A very interesting beginning, Elaina is a vampire tracker and member of District 5.
He is a Dresdan vampire, who is one of the older and more powerful vampires due to who is creator was She is supposed to hunt (red target)Him down, capture and/or kill, but instead they fell incredibly attracted. Because one of her team-members betrays her. She start to question everything she was taught by the District, District 5 isn't the ethical organization that everyone thinks. The mission failed, and 'cause "Fate" as brought them together by betrayal, they both become targets.
Russo take advantage of Zaket when he was in slumber. Of cause Zaket only changed healthy humans and only when he thought they were ready, they had already a taste of Zaket's blood so they knew what he was about. Zaket had changed Vicq and Russo. Russo became the new Master Vampire. Vicq and a multitude of vamps rejected what Russo had done and would not serve him.
The hunter–and their target are kwnoned as forbidden love.
The plot is depth and draws the reader in to the story. IT's easy to follow. Characters are developt. I'll certainly keep reading to find out.

This book is a part of a series. In order to get the gist of this you will need to read the complete series.
So, to be fair, I only got through about 50% of the book. I just couldn't take any more. The writing was awkward. For example the author wrote, "A nerve literally popped in Elaina’s throat." What the heck does that mean? The dialog was equally stilted and instead of allowing us to figure out what the characters were thinking and feeling through their actions the author just narrated everything. The plot sounded good but, yeah, that was about it.
Oh my...what a wonderful dramatic way at the end to leave readers wanting for more!! A fantastic, seductive read; with a sassy female lead followed by a vamp who in every sense of the word enraptures the reader. Willing to lose all for love is an epic tragedy; laid in an urban setting that is weaved and intwined perfectly with the character and plot build up. The author has definitely given her all to ensure total reader satisfaction. Four stars for this prelude!!
Suspenseful, drama, and romance. Dresdan vampires are considered the oldest. They hunt the rogue vampires for killing innocents. When a leader is killed by one of his own others revolt and leave instead of serve the new master.
A human organization trains to kill all vampires and experiment with their blood. Depending on the side you don't know who to trust. I'll keep reading to find out.
Oh oh oh my favorites! Vampires! This is the great beginning of this Dresdan Coven Book series by Amber Ella Monroe. A fast paced read with humans and vampires trying to kill one another. But there is also a love story starting so more is to come. Let's hope the lovers live long enough to continue their steamy times together. On to the next book "Donor"!

A very interesting beginning. Elaina is a vampire tracker and member of District 5. She is supposed to be hunting rouges, but finds the District has targeted older Dresden to torture and drain them. Vicq is one of these Dresden targets but he and Elaina feel a pull to one another and both become targets
Wow, if you like vampire romances, you'll like Prelude by Amber Ella Monroe. This is the story of Elaina, a vampire hunter and tracker who works for a corporation called District 5, and the vampire, Vicq, she is supposed to hunt down and kill or capture, but instead is incredibly attracted to. Vicq is a Dresdan vampire, who is one of the older and more powerful vampires due to who is creator was. This the story of how they met and how their lives, jobs, and who their friends are suddenly change due to their association and feelings for each other and how far they are willing to go to protect each other. This book hooked me and I couldn't wait to read more by Me. Monroe to see how this story of love and attraction of two characters who should be enemies and more details of what is really happening with District 5 and Vicq's Dresdan leader.
